Description of the work
Usually, I take the reference photos myself, because I like to feel the energy of the places I paint. But this piece is an exception: it was born out of a real admiration for a photograph by Sebastien Nespoulous, a photographer I greatly appreciate on Instagram.
From the very first glance, I was transported to a magical world where fairies live. It was the moss covering the vegetation that first caught my eye. I love that soft green. When I see green, I instantly feel good. They say that green soothes the mind, promotes relaxation, and helps reduce stress and anxiety. It is also a symbol of rebirth and vitality.
I could imagine myself walking through this forest and breathing in the fresh air, while feeling the soft, spongy moss beneath my feet. Then there was that mist in the background… that light veil that added mystery and poetry, reinforcing the magical character of the place. This photograph touched all my senses, making me want to transport myself there. Through my painting, I tried to pay it a sincere tribute, hoping that the viewer might, in turn, be carried away into this enchanted forest.
A space where anything is possible, inhabited by an invisible world where fairies might exist. A place where we allow ourselves to believe that dreams can take shape. A refuge bathed in serenity, where we slow down, where we breathe, nestled against the softness of the moss.
A place between two worlds.
