HARMONY

This painting illustrates a story of collaboration between man and nature, a story of resilience and rebirth. In fact, this is the third piece I've painted inspired by this forest, which was ravaged by fire in 1909.

Over the years, nature has demonstrated its remarkable capacity for regeneration. Trees have grown back, young plants have emerged from the burnt soil, and wildlife has reclaimed its territory, restoring the forest to its former splendor. And so, life resumed its course, reaffirming the power of natural resilience.

During this rebirth, my father and grandfather worked in the forest to create an environment conducive to new life. They removed dead trees as well as replanting new ones, all the while taking great care not to damage existing saplings. Their work helped the forest to regenerate more quickly. Their work was not simply human intervention, but a true collaboration with nature, because the benefits of this relationship are reciprocal. Nature teaches us patience and perseverance, provides us with clean air, renewable resources and an ecological balance essential to our survival. The forest also provided my father and grandfather with a serene working environment, and a deep sense of contribution to an ecosystem larger than themselves. In return, by protecting and nurturing these natural spaces, mankind fosters more robust and sustainable ecosystems, ensuring the preservation of our environment for future generations.

This painting is therefore a tribute to this essential link between man and nature. It's a reminder of the importance of cultivating this relationship to ensure a future where everyone can flourish. Together, man and nature can overcome challenges and emerge stronger, proving that, of their union, is born true harmony.
