The inspiration for this painting came from a photograph taken in Vaudreuil-Dorion. This solitary tree had been planted many years ago in a park near my home. I've watched it grow with the wind, fortifying itself over the years. Weak and vulnerable at the beginning of its life, it quickly became imposing and sumptuous with time. With its green foliage reaching skywards, it now offers a lovely expanse of shade to all passers-by.
