Painting based on a photograph taken in Gaspésie National Park. On the surface, it looked just like any other; a towering, moss-covered conifer, spreading its branches skyward, scattering the scent of cedar all around it. However, at its very heart lay a treasure that it cradled preciously against itself, its exposed roots encompassing and protecting it, as if it were a precious pearl.
